Caralluma (Caralluma Fimbriata) is a succulent plant (cactus) native to India and Africa. For centuries, Caralluma Fimbriata has been used in India as a hunger and thirst blocker. Although the extract is mainly used for weight control, recent studies have revealed other potential benefits such as its antioxidant, energy-boosting, and glucose-lowering activities.
Nowadays the extract derived from the plant is used to decrease appetite for weight loss. It is also used to quench thirst and to increase endurance. Although not fully characterized, Caralluma Fimbriata is believed to work in appetite suppression.
